LoafWallet Litecoin wallet for iOS

LoafWallet is a standalone Litecoin Wallet built for iOS by the Litecoin Foundation. This is an example of a software wallet, check out our getting started doc for a description of the different kinds of cryptocurrency wallets.

Here is a quick tutorial for setting up your LoafWallet fro iOS.

Please note: This tutorial show you how to create a brand new Litecoin wallet, so this would be an additional Litecoin address if you’ve already created one with Electrum.

Download from the Apple App Store

First you will need to download the app from Apple’s App Store.

Create Wallet

When you open LoafWallet for the first time you will be asked to select either “create wallet” or “recover wallet.” Since we do not yet have a LoafWallet, we will be selecting “create wallet.”

Generate a Wallet Recovery Phrase

As with most crypto currency wallets, you will be prompted to generate a random, 12 word wallet recovery phrase. We recommend writing down this recovery phrase on a piece of paper and storing it in a safe or a safety deposit box.

  1. DO NOT let anyone see your recovery phrase.
  2. NEVER type your recovery phrase into password managers or elsewhere.
  3. DO NOT screenshot your recovery phrase. Other applications on your iPhone are able to access your screenshots

The send screen will be where you can send Litecoin to others. To send Litecoin to other, enter the recipient’s Litecoin address in the “Pay to” field, enter the amount of Litecoin you would like to send and select “send.” If completed successfully, this transaction will appear in the “history” tab.

The recieve tab is where you will find all of the information required to receive Litecoin. This tab provides you with a QR Code that others can scan to send you Litecoin. Alternatively this tab provides your Litecoin address as well as the option to copy your address to clipboard, send address as email, send as address a message or “request amount.”

As previously mentioned, the history tab will show you all of your Litecoin transaction data.
